The Little Drops collectible statues series help your children, grandchildren or godchildren to learn about Jesus, Mary and the Saints.
St. Charbel Makhlouf was a Maronite monk from Lebanon. Born to a poor family, he spent his childhood herding cattle. St. Charbel felt called to serve the Lord as a priest and entered the Lebanese Maronite Order of monks in 1851. He was ordained a priest eight years later.
St. Charbel loved the Mass and the Eucharist. He was especially devoted to Mary, who he spoke of often. In his later life, St. Charbel became a hermit, dedicating his life to prayer, fasting, manual labour, and penance. Many people came to visit him, seeking his guidance and prayers. On Christmas Eve, in 1898, as St. Charbel was celebrating Mass, he peacefully died. After his death, many people who visited his tomb reported healings and answers to their prayers.
St. Charbel was canonised as a saint in 1977. Today, he is the most loved saint of Lebanon and the Middle East. St. Charbel is the patron saint of Lebanon, and his feast day is 24 July.
